Grades K-5:
K-3 are taught in a fully integrated co-teaching model for all subjects
4-5 are taught with one teacher teaching ELA and Social Studies and another teaching Math and science.
During Reading and Math classes
Both ELA and Math have a teaching assistant in addition to the classroom teacher for all portions of instruction and AIS
Students are broken into small groups based on ability
Groups work on specific skills based on data
Can be on a remedial bases or enrichment
Students identified as higher need can receive an additional period of 1 to 1 attention on a specific skill to close a learning gap.
Grades 6-12
6th,7th, 8th & algebra classes have an additional 40 minute learning lab every other day for small group work where:
Students are broken into small groups based on ability
Groups work on specific skills based on data
Can be on a remedial bases or enrichment
Students are identified by performance and placed
For ELA classes we have a teacher or teacher assistant pushing into classes to assist students
In addition: students scoring a 1 or 2 on state ELA assessments or scoring below an 80 in English or SS are assigned a learning lab.
Groups work on specifics kills based on data.
