The week of January 21st through the 24th students in grades 9-12 will only attend school if they have a regents exam or attend BOCES technical classes. Mark your calendars for the FFA's spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Thursday, Jan. 16. Meals include spaghetti with meat sauce, side salad, and a roll with butter. Available for purchase from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria — $10 for adults and $7 for children. Contact Ms. Periard with any questions.
Congratulations to the ODY-RS girls volleyball team on their Queens Classic Tournament championship today at Morrisville State. The ladies went 10-0 in tournament play then 2-1 in the championship round against Cincinnatus to win the crown! Outstanding team win lead by Coach Bosc.

Students are preparing to honor community members, relatives and ODY alumni who have served in the U.S. military during our annual Veterans Day assembly on Friday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m.
Winter Sports informational meeting for JV and Varsity sports will be Thursday, November 14th at 6pm in the Richfield Springs cafeteria. Parents and students are encouraged to attend to get all information from coaches pertaining to the Basketball and Volleyball seasons.
Today, October 27th is Owen D. Young's 150th birthday. In celebration of his birthday a gathering was held at the Owen D. Young Central School auditorium led by Mrs. Suzannah Young Ciernia and Mrs. Michelle Hitchcock. Over 100 community members and alumni turned out for the celebration. Those in attendance heard Milleta Oldick Andela (alumni) sing, Mr. Paul Doty, Curator of Special Collections and Archives from St. Lawrence University and Dr. Keith Landa, SUNY Board of Trustees speak on behalf of Owen D. Young's impact on the state and private colleges of New York. In addition, Mrs. Patricia Collins Pullis spoke about how her and her family have been impacted by Owen D. Young and his love for education as well as this community. Finally everyone had cupcakes and ice cream before singing happy birthday. Thank you to all who came out to celebrate the man who donated our wonderful school to this community!
In order to encourage student attendance at the Girls Varsity Soccer game on Friday, October 25th in Richfield we will be offering students in grades 7-12 a bus to Richfield at 2:55. If interested students must sign up by noon on Friday. Students will be responsible for their own ride home from Richfield after the game.
Congratulations to the RS-ODY girls soccer team on their Tri-League league championship! The ladies defeated a worthy Edmeston/Morris opponent 2-1 with the game winning goal scored by Hunter Ough assist from Camryn Marshall.

The Owen D. Young-Richfield Springs athletic program is seeking an individual to coach one of its two boys modified basketball teams. The season begins Monday, January 6, 2025 and runs until March 14, 2025. Practices will use both Owen D. Young and Richfield Springs gymnasiums on a rotating basis usually immediately after school.
